Accessibility & Inclusion

Quick Links:      Frequently Asked Questions      Code of Conduct      Parental Permission Form

AlienCon is accessible to all attendees! When registering, you will be asked if you have a disability that will impact your time at the event, and if so, you will be prompted to tell us about what we can do to make your experience better. We strongly encourage you to use this form so that we can customize your experience. Please see below for information regarding accommodations for attendees who are hard of hearing, have low vision, have mobility impairments, or need a quiet place to rest during the convention.

Medical Aide

If you are in need of individualized assistance, you may request a Medical Aide badge for a family member or friend by emailing help+md@thealiencon.com. Medical Aide badges allow attendance to conference programming while in the service of an individual with a disability.

Mobility Concerns

There will be wheelchair-accessible seating available in the MainStage. You will need to pick up a designated sticker from the Customer Service desk when you check in. This sticker will be used to demonstrate to any staff or volunteers that you have access to the space. You may bring one guest to sit inside this area with you. (Your guest does not need a sticker.)

If you have other mobility concerns, please let us know as soon as possible. You will be able to pick up a bracelet from the Customer Service Desk which will allow you extra time to find your seat in certain programs.

Service Animals

Your service animals and certified support animals are welcome at AlienCon while assisting you. Service animals must be harnessed, leashed, or tethered, unless these devices interfere with the service animal’s work, or the individual’s disability prevents using these devices. If that is the case, we require you maintain control of the animal through voice, signal, or other controls. Poisonous, venomous, and predatory creatures, including snakes, are not allowed, and neither are animals too big to be held, such as standard-sized horses.

Auditory Concerns

Open captioning and/or sign language interpretation will be provided at select panels. If you have requests for programming to be open-captioned, please email help+md@thealiencon.com as soon as possible. We will only be able to accommodate requests placed up until 3 weeks prior to the event.

Gender-Neutral Restrooms

There will be gender-neutral restrooms on-site at AlienCon. Please reference a map of the convention space for more information.

Quiet Space

If you sometimes need a private space to rest away from the hustle and bustle of the conference, be it for emotional respite or a private place to breastfeed, please let us know as soon as possible and we will do our best to assist you.

First Aid

If you need immediate medical assistance during the event, please ask any volunteer or staff member. We will direct you to the first aid station and/or escort you there.

Please note that some programming may involve flashing lights or smoke.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to email us at help+md@thealiencon.com. Once we are on-site at the event, we encourage you to visit the AlienCon Customer Service Desk or contact the Baltimore Convention Center.
